Financial support is available through several different programs under Medicare. Words In Motion Speech Pathology therapists all have Medicare Provider numbers. A child and their family are eligible for rebates for a number of different services including assessment and intervention, once they have obtained a plan from their GP under one of the following programs:
The Enhanced Primary Care Program entitles children to rebates for up to five sessions of speech therapy per calendar year if they are deemed eligible by their GP. This program also includes rebates for other Allied Health Services, however it is important to note that there are five sessions in total for the year.
The Helping Children With Autism package involves a number of different items and associated rebates for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families under Medicare.
For eligible children with a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder under the age of seven, individual funding packages are available through FaHCSIA. Words In Motion Speech Pathology is an approved member of the panel of providers under this scheme.
Those families with Private Health cover may be able to claim rebates from their Private Health fund, depending on the particular fund and package the family have chosen.
